The short version

• You can browse the whole website without giving us any personal information.
• If you contact us, we use your details only to answer you and arrange your stay.
• Our contact form does not store anything on our website. It opens WhatsApp with your message ready to send.
• We do not sell your information, we do not show advertising, and we do not send marketing messages unless you ask us to.
• Bookings are completed on a third-party booking platform, which handles your payment and booking details under its own privacy policy.

Information you give us

When you use the contact form, call us, message us on WhatsApp or email us, you may share your name, phone number, email address, travel dates, the number of guests and anything else you choose to write. We use this only to reply, check availability, suggest a suitable stay and look after you before and during your visit.

When you press Send on our contact form, your browser opens WhatsApp with your message filled in. Nothing you type into the form is saved on our website or our servers. Once you send the message, it is delivered through WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta, and its own privacy policy applies.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, ours is delivered by servers that receive basic technical details whenever a page is requested: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the time and the referring page. Our hosting providers keep these logs for a short time to run the site, keep it secure and fix problems.

Some parts of the website are loaded from other companies, so your browser connects to them directly and they receive the same kind of technical details:

• Google Fonts, for the typefaces used on every page.
• Google Maps, for the map on our contact page.
• CrawlUp, which publishes our travel articles and their photos. Each article includes a tiny image that counts how often it is read.
• Cloudflare, which stores and delivers our villa photos.

Cookies and similar technology

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may remember a display preference, such as light or dark mode, on your own device. A sign-in cookie is used only by our staff when they log in to manage the website.

The CrawlUp reading counter on our articles works without a cookie, but it does receive your IP address and browser details when an article loads. If you would rather avoid it, you can block images from app.trycrawlup.com in your browser or with a content blocker.

Why we use your information

• To answer your questions and arrange or manage your stay, because you asked us to.
• To run, secure and improve the website, which is in our legitimate interest and yours.
• To keep records we are required to keep by law, such as guest registration details where Indian law requires them.

Booking your stay

When you choose to book, our website sends you to a third-party booking platform. Your booking, payment and identity details are collected and handled by that platform under its own terms and privacy policy, not by this website. We receive the booking details we need to host you, such as your name, dates, number of guests and the messages you send through the platform.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the services listed in this policy, which help us run the website and communicate with you, and with authorities when Indian law requires it. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your messages and booking details for as long as we need them to answer you, host your stay and handle any follow-up, and then for as long as Indian law requires us to keep guest records. Server logs are kept by our hosting providers for a short period. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Information stored outside India

Some of the companies named above, including Google, Meta, Cloudflare and our hosting providers, may store or process information on servers outside India. Where that happens, we rely on those companies' own safeguards for international transfers.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, unless we must keep it by law. You can also withdraw any consent you have given and ask us to stop contacting you. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act or, for visitors in the European Union or the United Kingdom, under data protection law there. Visitors in the EU or UK may also complain to their local data protection authority.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will reply as soon as we reasonably can, and within any deadline the law sets.

Children

Our website is meant for adults planning a trip. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Stays that include children must be arranged by a parent or another responsible adult.

Security

Our website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to our site management tools is limited to our staff. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable care with the little information we hold.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the website.
