La Meadow is one large villa, rented whole, with five bedrooms, a green lawn and a play area for children. We are a gated beach property with 21 villas and stays, including five 3BHK villas with their own pools, which can be booked one at a time or several together. Here we set out what each offers and who each one suits, fairly and side by side.
What does La Meadow Villa offer?
La Meadow Villa is a single 5 bedroom villa on Old Auroville Road at Periyamudaliyar Chavadi. It is rented as a whole, so the house, the grounds and the pool belong to your party for the length of the stay.
The setting is green and secluded. There is a private swimming pool, a lush lawn and a dedicated kids' play area, which makes it a natural fit for families with young children. The lawn also lends itself to gatherings, and La Meadow hosts events, from birthdays to small family functions.
Being near Auroville, it suits guests who want to spend time at the Matrimandir, the Auroville cafes and the green lanes inland, with Pondicherry town also within reach.
What do our villas offer?
We have 21 villas and stays on one gated coastal property at Chettikuppam. The five 3BHK villas, Villas 15 to 19, each have a private swimming pool, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, five queen beds and two living rooms with a pool view. Each sleeps up to 10 and has a kitchen, a dedicated workspace and a projector or home theatre.
Alongside them are eight 2BHK Luxury Stays for up to 6 guests, with a home theatre and a common pool, and 2BHK villas 09 to 14 for up to 4 guests. Villa No 2 has a sea facing terrace and sleeps up to 8, and Villas 2 and 5 welcome pets.
Every unit has air conditioning and fans, generator backup, wifi, an outdoor shower and free parking inside the gate. Check-in is self service and food can be arranged. We have no spa or on-site restaurant, so like La Meadow, this is a home of your own rather than a full service resort.
How do the locations compare?
La Meadow is inland on Old Auroville Road, closer to Auroville and the green belt around it. It is quiet and leafy, and the beach is a drive away rather than a walk.
We are on the coast at Chettikuppam, in a quiet gated community between Marakkanam and Pondicherry. The beach is a 700 m walk from the gate, and Pondicherry town and Auroville are each about a 30 minute drive. If the sea is a big part of your trip, being able to walk to it every morning makes a real difference.

Pools and privacy compared
Both give you a private pool. At La Meadow, the whole villa shares one pool, set in the lawn, so a party of five bedrooms swims together. That is ideal for one large family that wants to be in one place all the time.
With us, each 3BHK villa has its own pool, with two living rooms opening onto it. A group that takes two or three villas gets two or three pools, so grandparents can have a quiet swim while the cousins take over another. Each family keeps its own kitchen, bathrooms and space, and everyone can still meet for dinner.
Privacy at both is high. La Meadow is a single secluded house; we are a gated property where your villa is yours alone, inside a guarded community.
Groups, families and couples: which suits whom?
If your group fits a single 5 bedroom house, wants a lawn and a play area for small children, or is planning a small event on the grass, La Meadow is a very good pick. It is also the better choice for guests who want to be nearer Auroville than the sea.
If your group is larger, or several families want to stay together while keeping their own space, our villas suit better. You can book one 3BHK villa for up to 10 or several villas together for weddings, reunions and offsites, each with its own pool.
